Miranda Weston-Smith

Miranda provides practical business development services for healthcare and biotech.  She advises entrepreneurs, companies and universities on marketing, new venture development and technology transfer. 

Miranda has 20 years' experience of working with emerging technology businesses, and strong links with the Cambridge bio and high tech clusters.  As a Technology Transfer Manager at Cambridge Enterprise, University of Cambridge, she mentored researchers starting companies, helping them to raise funds, and handled many licensing projects. During this time she compiled a book, Starting a Technology Company, which is available from enquiries@enterprise.cam.ac.uk.  

Miranda has carried out technology audits, advised on the development of science parks, and initiated the UK's annual survey of technology transfer. She spent five years with the seed capital firm, Cambridge Research and Innovation Limited. 

Miranda holds an MA (Cantab) in Natural Sciences, University of Cambridge, the AAT Advanced Certificate in Accounting, is a Fellow of the Linnaean Society, and member of the Eastern Region Biotechnology Initiative, Enterprising Women, and US Association of University Technology Managers.
