John Goodger

John's early career saw him working for a clearing bank and a London based fund manager.  He also spent five years as a financial journalist at the Investors Chronicle and four years in financial PR but in for the last 15 years or so, his time has been spent advising young businesses, helping them to refine/strengthen their business model and secure funding.

John is a director of Eastern Capital Alliance, the regional angel network, building on his involvement with the former Great Eastern Investment Forum which funded many exciting and innovative businesses that emerged from the Cambridge technology cluster.  He is a former board member of a number of quoted companies including Griffin Mining.  He sits on the board of NW Brown Company Limited and has been a non-exec director for a number of companies in the manufacturing/electronics sector.

John is one of the mentors in the Understanding Finance for Business team so he is working with companies that are broadly investment ready to refine and strengthen their business proposition and improve their chances of securing funding.
