Clusters

Success breeds success and the East of England is now home to some strong sector-specific clusters that are well served by established supply chains and dedicated support services.  We are working with key partners to map a wide range of clusters but we have started with two that have been developed by the team at Hethel Engineering Centre:

We are mapping clusters in order to highlight the region's strengths and attract complementary businesses to sustain local achievements and encourage innovation.  Working with our partners, we will be developing other clusters in the coming months, including composites, aerospace, marine, pharmaceutical, food and drink processing and ICT. In the meantime, there are organisations supporting a number of clusters including:

  • EKTN - Supports the electronic design community across the UK, driving innovation to maintain excellence for innovative electronic design.
  • Marine East - East of England not for profit, industry focus group representing the extensive and diverse marine industry.
