Calling low carbon innovators

Grants for Research and Development, providing finance of up to £250,000, are available for innovative low carbon projects. The grants can be used for proving a market place, developing a prototype and/or testing feasibility. These are grants, not loans, and don't require your business to release any equity.  Find out more about the process and likely timescales here or for more information please email support@eeda.org.uk

If you are developing low carbon technology, EEDA's £5.5m pot of grant funding for low carbon research and development could be just what you need.  We will fund between 40% and 60% of the total project cost. But it's first come, first served. Our GRaD panel meets every fortnight to evaluate applications and we've already approved £1m.

So don't delay. Visit our Grants for Research and Development pages and fill in the quick and easy initial application. We will confirm eligibility in 3 days.

Who is the grant for?

  • Entrepreneurs and small medium sized companies (SMEs)

Why research and development grants?

  • grant funding is effectively 'free' money i.e. you don't have to give up equity in your business
  • you retain full control and ownership
  • you can claim tax credits on R & D spend
  • if you secure grant funding, we know from previous recipients that it can help you secure further investment from other sources
