Supporting technological research and development
As a result of the Government's review of public sector spending commitments, we will be unable to enter into new commitments for the Grant for Research and Development until further notice
Grants for Research and Development, providing finance of up to £250,000 for innovative, technology-led Low Carbon projects. The grants can be used for proving a market place, developing a prototype and/or testing feasibility. These are grants, not loans, and don't require your business to release any equity. Who is the grant for?
- Entrepreneurs and small medium sized companies (SMEs)
Why research and development grants?
- grant funding is effectively 'free' money i.e. you don't have to give up equity in your business
- you retain full control and ownership
- you can claim tax credits on R & D spend
- if you secure grant funding, we know from previous recipients that it can help you secure further investment from other sources

- EEDA welcomes applications all year round
- the panel meets every fortnight to evaluate applications
