Enterprising Women

Enterprising Women is a regional online business centre for women in business. It is based on a virtual business community focused on addressing the needs of women starting or growing a business, and involving a number of organisations and networks. The founding members had successfully run their own businesses, bringing substantial first hand experience of the challenges and thrills of starting and growing business.

The initiative encompasses:

• Core community - on-line community (over 5,000 members)
• Women Ambassadors - their role is to inspire women to start their own business. They share their experience about enterprise, write articles in local newspapers, talk to young people in schools, set up peer support networks, mentor others in business and provide training programmes for existing or potential female entrepreneurs
• Promotional Activities - business community development and promotion of women's enterprise, building on the strength of the 'Enterprising Women' brand
• Networking Events - related to Core Community, Ambassadors and Promotional activities.
